Wait, WHAT? I've updated it?! It's been over a year.. I'm sure all hope had been lost for what this site could have been.. but NO! The Nerd rises like a phoenix from the ashes and actually updates her animated work, as well as a few other less-notable things around the site. Hurray!

I know, I know. It's been a while.. again. But it's been a busy summer. No excuses, though. I couldn't sleep tonight, and this site has been nagging me in the back of my mind since the middle of last semester, so I'm like.. UPDATE TIME! So I put up a little of what I have to put up.. and that was my midterm project for 2D animation last semester. I have a rough copy of my final animation project from last semester (you know the one.. the 30-second cel-painted, synched one), but it's very rough and I need to redo it before it's ready to meet the public eye. If you're still curious, however, email me a request with "Animation Final Project" as the subject title, and I'll do my best to send you the rough copy. Once I've polished up what can be polished (it's by no means a professional work), I'll try to post it up here for everyone to see. And let it be recorded here for all time that my goal by the end of the summer is to have some more still art up, and perhaps some new animation.

It's about time! I finally got a few of my animations up! I still haven't scanned most of my old flipbooks, so we'll have those to look forward to, as well as more 2-D projects, but this is what's important for now.. just having something up. So some are gifs, and some are swfs (flash). Watch what you like, and please, please, PLEASE give feedback if you find it necessary. I always appreciate constructive criticism.

Wow, it's been exactly a month and finally I've actually taken the time (which I really don't have much of these days) to think about my website. I did a little redesign that I've been in desperate need of for a while, and I think it adds a little more depth to the feel of the site. All I really did was add an extra table around the body table with a different shade, and I changed the border of the body table from pink to green so it doesn't cut the page quite as sharply. I still haven't gotten the animations up, but I'm planning on it, trust me. I hope to get those up by the end of the week (you've heard that one before, right? Yeah), so we'll see if I actually get around to doing it this time.

I feel like a serious slacker.. I still haven't gotten any scanning for my animations done. But my tablet finally came in the mail yesterday, so I played with that a little bit, and I decided to post the little sketch that I made with it. It's in the Still Art section. Oi, I really need to get working on those animations. But yay tablet!

I didn't get the Still Art pages up by the new year like I wanted, but does the first day of the new year count? I've finally got those up, so give them a look and tell me what you think in the Guestbook. Yes, that was a shameless plug. Learn to identify them. They will occur often and relentlessly. Anyway, I hope to get the animated art pages up within the next couple of weeks. Hurrah.

The site is up and running! I'm officially a dot com! Hurrah! So yeah, for the past couple of days, I've been working on the blog and title graphics for the art pages.. although those pages haven't really been started at all. Today, I completed the blog and the guestbook (which you should go sign right now!). I hope to have at least some of the still art pages up by the new year, and I hope to have some animations up within the first week of the year.. but we'll see how that goes. I got my DigiCel Flipbook Lite program in the mail today, so I'm hoping that it will prove to be a worthy investment and make the digital animation of my hand-drawn flipbook animations a less complicated process.. but who knows. Anyway, at least the site's finally up and running. Thanks for stopping by!

I've completed everything but the Blog and the Guestbook (which are both from external sites so I feel I have a bit of leeway for procrastination there..), and the Art section. I would like to get the Art section done sooner rather than later, but it requires me working on some new images, scanning a whole lot of frames of animation, making a whole lot of template sites, and doing a whole lot of copy/pasting - as you might assume, the task seems somewhat daunting. I'm hoping to incorporate some snazzy scripts in the Art pages for aesthetic purposes (I have a couple in mind that I'd like to try out), but we'll see. Scripts and other bells and whistles like that might just have to wait a while until the bare basics are done.

Continued working on the basics this morning. I made the title images and completed all of the copy for the about page. I also fixed a table problem that I'd been having complications with in only IE.. this is why everyone should use either Opera or Firefox. I've decided I really don't like the color scheme all that much, but I'm hoping it'll grow on me, because I don't really feel like going back and redoing all of the images. Best of all of today's accomplishments is that I've decided to get my own domain.. That's so exciting!

Started work on the site. I experienced some table issues, but I took care of that. I decided against making the header a table, and used an image map instead.. The upside is that it's a lot less of a hassle, the downside is that I can't do javascript rollovers for the links like I was hoping to (unless someone out there knows how to do rollovers for image maps and would like to be a kind soul and tell me how). Other than that, I'm planning on working on the rest of the site in the coming week.
